Make, answer and counter an offer
Offers are cards in Messages, where you ask questions, see the numbers, and accept, counter or decline.
Everything about buying one game happens in one conversation in Messages, between the buyer and the seller. Each offer, question and step is a card there, with its own buttons. To find these conversations, tap the Marketplace chip in Messages.
Before you offer
A game’s For sale card has two ways to learn more first:
- Ask a question: pick from the questions buyers usually ask, such as how much it earns or why they’re selling, or write your own. Tap Send questions.
- See the numbers: asks the seller to share the game’s numbers. The seller taps Let them in on the card, and you open them with See the numbers.
Make an offer
Type your price on the For sale card, or tap one of the suggested amounts. Tap Make an offer, then Review offer to check what you’d pay if they say yes, then Send offer. See Buy a game for every step.
Answer an offer
The offer card shows the price and what it’s for. The seller also sees their payout after fees, and whether the buyer’s checked funds cover it.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accept | Shows the money line by line and what happens next. Tap Accept offer to agree. |
| Counter | Type your own price in the card and tap Send. Back leaves it as it was. |
| Decline | Says no. They can still make another offer. |
Whoever made the offer sees Waiting for an answer, and can tap Withdraw until it’s answered.
You can counter back and forth as many times as you need. Each new offer replaces the one before it, and only the newest can be accepted. An offer that nobody answers expires after 7 days.
Once it’s accepted
It’s a deal. Tap Review and sign to sign the purchase agreement now, or View deal to open the deal’s page. Accepting one offer declines any other open offers on the game.
From then on, the newest card in the conversation has your next step, such as Sign or Pay with the amount. See How a deal works.
