Genres and trends
See which kinds of games people play and what new games are about, and follow the ones you care about.
Genres group games by Roblox’s genre, such as Simulation or Survival. Trends group them by a word in their names, such as Egg or Steal, so you can see what new games are about and how fast each idea is spreading.
Genres
Open Terminal → Games and tap Genres. Each genre is a row, with its share of everyone playing under its name.
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Players | People playing its games now |
| Change | How that changed since this time yesterday |
| Games | How many of its games are on the Games list |
Tap a genre to open its page: a chart of its players, then its games by Most played, Rising and New.
Trends
Open Terminal → Trends. Each trend is a word used in the names of new games.
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| New | New games with the word in their name, last 30 days |
| 30d change | That number against the 30 days before |
| Players | People playing games with the word in their name now |
The views ask different questions:
- Most new games: the words in the most new games.
- Growing: more new games than the month before, at least 10 now, fastest first.
- New: at least 5 new games this month and 2 or fewer the month before.
- Most played: the words whose games have the most players.
Tap a trend to open its page. Its chart shows Players, or Games: how many new games used the word, as bars.
Follow a genre or a trend
- Open its page.
- Tap Follow.
Following turns on Big moments: an alert when one of its new games passes 10,000 players, and for a trend, when its games have a big week. Tap the bell that takes Follow’s place to choose Everything, which adds every new game passing 2,000 players, or None, which stops following. The genres and trends you follow are in Watchlist → Trends.
Tip: To compare a trend with a game or with all of Roblox, see Compare games.
