CLI

The CLI puts every number on RoTerminal in your terminal. It needs Node 18 or later, and nothing else.

Terminal
npx roterminal "grow a garden"

It draws the numbers for people, with a line of the week. When an AI agent runs it, it answers in JSON instead.

Install

Run it with npx, which always uses the latest version:

Terminal
npx roterminal rising

Or install it, to type roterminal on its own:

Terminal
npm install --global roterminal

Sign in

The CLI works without an account, with 50 calls a day. Signing in is free and gives you 200, and your own games:

Terminal
npx roterminal login

It opens roterminal.co with a code. Check that the code matches the one in your terminal, then select Connect. The key is saved in ~/.config/roterminal/auth.json, and you can disconnect it in Settings → Developer.

On a server, or anywhere without a browser, set an API key instead:

Terminal
export ROTERMINAL_API_KEY="rta_…"

A name with spaces goes in quotes: roterminal "dress to impress". Every list takes --limit, from 1 to 25.

JSON

Add --json to any command for JSON. When Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI or OpenCode runs the CLI, it answers in JSON on its own.

roterminal rising --json
{
  "status": "ok",
  "tool": "rising",
  "data": { "list": "Gaining players fastest against a day ago", "games": [ … ] },
  "link": "https://roterminal.co/games?view=rising",
  "next": [{ "command": "npx roterminal game \"Weird Gun Game\"", "when": "Why Weird Gun Game is climbing" }]
}

status is ok, error or action_required, which means a person has to do something first, like sign in. next suggests what to run next. The words in data are written for AI agents to read. For typed data in your own code, use the API.
